Family Wedding Attire and Lookbook
Coordinate Colors
I love a fall wedding! So much so that we got married in the fall. Recently, we attended the beautiful fall wedding of my sister. While we were not members of the bridal party, we chose outfits that complemented the wedding colors!
Fashion Tip: Coordinate the outfit colors of your immediate family members to ensure wedding photos are cohesive.
Shoes Suited for Fall Weather
Deciding on shoes ideally suited for fall weather in Tennessee can be challenging, given we often have significant temperature changes during the week. Of course, depending on the temperature, you could opt for an open-toe or closed-toe shoe. But what is most important for my family and I is comfort. Our youngest, who is extremely active, wore his favorite pair of sneakers to add some swag to his three-piece suit. My husband followed suit because he would be chasing our son, although he and our son chose not to wear matching sneakers. Our oldest (my mini-me) picked a nude sandal with a small block heel, while I picked a pair of blocked high-heel suede sandals in animal print (of course).
Fashion Tip: Wedding shoes should be stylish and comfortable, given the standing, walking, and dancing that occurs.
What to Wear to a Fall Wedding
What to wear to a wedding depends on the dress code, if provided, and the formality of the wedding invitation. So a little bit about my family, we are an eccentric bunch who often prefer to be overdressed regardless of the occasion. In this instance, our style worked in our favor, given my relationship with the bride. Dressing the part, I wore a formal velvet gown with a mesh deep-v neckline and plunging back. This dress was stunning and bared all my business! Our daughter opted for a rose metallic sequin swing dress. My husband and son opted for black suits with accessories.
Fashion Tip: Use the wedding invitation's formality to determine the dress code.
