Y’all, the artists are on tour. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be enough money in the world to cover all the concerts I want to attend right now. So while I have the luxury of attending a few, one question remains the same after every ticket purchase: what will I wear? I could wear the classic artist T-shirt and jeans combo or choose to have a full-on fashion moment. Which do you think I would choose? If you selected a full-on fashion moment, you are correct!

3 Things to Consider When Dressing for a Concert

Ok, there are three things I consider while dressing for a concert. The most important (for me) is the venue ( parking). Like, how far away is parking and will I have flights of stairs to travel because these knees are temperamental! Recently, they ( my knees) have been cooperative only when needing to “Take over for the ‘99 and the 2000”, although this could be part of the reason they behave the way they do now. Anyway, I digress.

With the venue, I consider the artist’s genre and overall aesthetic. This helps determine how formal I want my outfit to be. Secondly, my comfort is key. I reserve heels for extraordinary occasions nowadays. I know I will be standing and dancing for a few hours at a concert. Therefore, choosing an outfit that won’t restrict your movement or make you uncomfortable is crucial.

Finally, after considering the venue and comfort level, I infuse my signature style elements to create the perfect concert look. But, of course, remember to express your style! My style elements for concert attire included animal prints ( or bold colors/ Patterns), interesting earrings, and a bold lip. Anyway, a concert is a great way to have fun with your fashion choices and show off your individuality.

What to Wear to a Concert- Outfit Combos That Work for Spring

Buying concert tickets can seem stress-free and easier than deciding what to wear. So here are five quick outfits to create from items you already have in your closet.

  1. Jeans and a T-Shirt or Tank: This effortless outfit can deliver style with the current denim trends and smart accessories. You can tie, cut, or tuck the t-shirt to highlight your figure. If you go this route, use relaxed jeans to offset the fitted shirt. Throw on some jewelry and shoes you choose, and you are all set.

Style tip: Introduce a bold color or pattern with shoes and accessories for a fashion-forward moment.

  2. Leather Pants and a Blouse: Leather pants are easier to style than you think. Leather pants are a great alternative if you plan to pair a blouse with black pants, leggings, or jeans. Of course, wearing leather pants with animal print is a moment!

Style tip: Remember to play with textures. Pair leather with silk blouses, velvet, or denim to elevate your look.

  3. All Denim Everything: Denim is trending! I remember wearing double denim back in the day, and now it is back! So take jeans and add another layer of denim to create a current fashion moment.

Style tip: Try layering a denim jacket over a t-shirt and jeans. You can achieve the same look with a denim jumpsuit if mixing denim is taking you too far into the early 2000s.

  4. Mini Dress and Boots/ Heels: Boots help to offset the short hem on a mini dress. But flats, platforms, boots, and heels are stylish to pair with a mini dress.

  5. A Little Black Dress and Sneakers: It is a great idea to pair a silhouette-hugging little black dress with sneakers instead of heels or boots. It is an unexpected pairing that is both relaxed and sexy. And it adds the perfect amount of edge to a classic look.

Style tips: Wear low-cut socks or no socks when pairing sneakers with a dress. If you wear low socks, make sure they match the shoes or are a neutral color. Wearing no socks or low-cut socks can make your legs appear longer. Also, add some contrast by wearing shoes with a pop of color, a metallic accent, or a bold print. This will draw attention to your feet and add some personality to your outfit. Anyway, wearing sneakers with a little black dress is a great way to be more comfortable. Your feet will thank you after the concert!

Remember picking out an outfit can be as fun as going to a concert. But the concert is about having fun, listening to your favorite artist, and dancing the night away with your friends. So, who will you see perform, and what do you plan on wearing to your next concert? Let me know in the comments.
