How to Look Put Together When You Are Not
My sinuses have decided to be utterly uncooperative during my first few days of summer vacation. So after postponing plans etc., our family date night was upon us. And I need to pull myself together to join in the fun.

Looking Put Together When You’re Not at Your Best
I am one of those people who often look put together. Y’all, sometimes I am put together on the outside but all over the place on the inside. Anyway, when I need to gather myself quickly, I follow a few basic rules I will share with you today.
Work Your Eyes
Eyeshadow is my go-to to make myself look dressed for the day. This eye look does not have to be anything elaborate, either. Another option that is effective for day and night is lashes. Yes, lashes (although not for me, as I am allergic to most glues). They are the quickest way to appear pulled together. If you prefer not to invest in lash extensions, then a nice strip or clusters can provide you with that made-up appearance with minimal effort and without eye makeup or mascara.
Put on a Cute Outfit
A cute outfit representing my style is a must when I feel unwell. It is easy to pick a previously worn cute outfit. So, remember all those outfits when you felt pretty, and the public gave you compliments for times like this. But I also have future outfits in mind if I need to dress quickly. Did y’all check out my outfit above? It was one I had in mind from recent purchases.
Wear Bright Colors or Patterns
When I am faking wellness ( side note: is this a thing with anyone else? lol), I use color as a mood booster. I throw on a fun print or color and trick the world into thinking I am, in fact, together ( and can breathe through my nose)!
Wear Comfortable Shoes
Another thing I focus on is comfort as well. Please repeat after me; it is ok to wear comfortable shoes. When I am not at my best, there is no way that, and I purposefully wear heels with my knees and pinky toes screaming at me with every step. Remember, a classic sneaker can elevate any outfit.
Wear Statement Earrings
My earrings will say, I am pulled together, y’all. Ha! I pick my most fashionable pair to complete my look and pull my outfit together. Also, the color or scale of my earrings draws a little attention away from the sinus issues reflected on my face. If you prefer a simple style of jewelry, then layer up a few of your favorites.
Anyway, while this sinus cocktail shot (antibiotics and cough medicine) starts cocktailing, I hope you can put these tips to use when you need to look put together in a pinch. Do you have a go-to formula for situations like this? If so, share below in the comments.
Until next time, remember to mark your life with beauty!
